SPSSI

is an association of  approximately 3000 psychologists, allied scientists, and others, who are interested in the application of research on the psychological aspects of important social issues to public policy solutions.

JSI

Through the Journal of Social Issues, SPSSI is able to bring behavioral and social science theory, empirical evidence, and practice into focus on important  human problems.

JSI is published quarterly. Each issue is devoted to a single topic, and available in electronic and print format.

ASAP

Analyses of Social Issues and Public Policy  is a non-thematic journal that presents timely and innovative research with explicit implications for social action and social policy.

ASAP features quick publication. It is published regularly in electronic format, with a print version produced once each year.

SIPR

Beginning late in 2007, Social Issues and Policy Review will publish a new annual featuring high quality review articles on cutting-edge topics relevant to social issues and social policy.

The first volume of SIPR is scheduled for publication in December 2007 and will include both theoretical and empirical reviews.

SPSSI's newsletter, the Forward, includes information on the activities of the Society, reports from elected officers, features of interest to our members and others, and more.

The SPSSI Listserv is a great way to receive updates about conferences, calls for papers, job opportunities, and more.

Celebrating 75 Years - SPSSI was there
Brown v. Board of Education

Brown v. Board of Education
Founded in 1936, SPSSI has a rich history and many proud accomplishments. SPSSI played a positive role in one of the most important Supreme Court cases of our era resulting in the desegregation of America's public schools.

Important Contributors - Kurt Lewin

Kurt Lewin Memorial Award
One of psychology's greats, Kurt Lewin, wrote that "there is nothing so practical as a good theory". His work has inspired SPSSI members throughout our history, and we honor his legacy through presentation of the annual Kurt Lewin Memorial Award.
