Mission statement: The Journal of Social Issues (JSI) is the flagship journal of the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues. The goal of JSI is to communicate scientific findings and interpretations relevant to pressing social issues in a non-technical manner but without the sacrifice of professional standards. Each issue of JSI is organized around an integral theme. With rare exception, issues of the Journal are proposed and developed by social researchers, who serve as issue editors under the direction of the JSI board. JSI does not publish unsolicited manuscripts or book reviews.
