The Graduate Student Committee (GSC) of the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues (SPSSI) is pleased to announce a special half-day Graduate Student Professional Development Conference. The conference will take place Saturday, June 29, in Washington, DC, and will compliment SPSSI’s Policy Workshop.
Graduate student attendees will gain professional development, networking, and mentoring opportunities. Specifically, the conference will feature:
* A Speed Mentoring Lunch with SPSSI Council members
* How to Get the Most Out of Your SPSSI Membership with Janice Adelman (past GSC Chair, current SPSSI Newsletter Editor), Maureen O'Connor (past SPSSI President) and Wendy R. Williams (past GSC Chair, current APA SPSSI representative)
* Evaluation Work and Community Research Partnerships with Heather E Bullock and David E. Livert (current SPSSI Council members)
* Applied Jobs, Academic Jobs, and Postdocs with Allen Omoto (current SPSSI President) and Jessica Salvatore (Co-chair of SPSSI Council Early Career Scholars Committee)
* A Networking Social Hour at Bar 201 with the SPSSI Graduate Student Committee, SPSSI Council Members, and SPSSI Policy Workshop speakers and attendees
