Applied Social Issues Internship Funding Selection

Ideally, selection committee members serve for threeyear terms, chairing the committee in their third year.

This internship program was established to encourage student research that is conducted in cooperation with a community or government organization, public interest group or other notfor-profit entity that will benefit directly from the project. College seniors, graduate students, and first-year post doctorates in psychology, applied social science, and related disciplines are eligible to apply. The applicant must be a SPSSI member.

Application deadline is usually around the end of March. Awards range from $1,500 to $2,500 to cover research costs, community organizing and, in unusual cases, a stipend for the intern. Cost sharing by sponsoring department or organization is desirable.

Details for applicants can be found here.
