Councilmember Alternate 2024–2025

Sarah Herrmann is an Associate Professor of Psychological Science at Weber State University. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona, as well as master’s and doctorate degrees from Arizona State University. Dr. Herrmann’s research explores the impact of historically minoritized identities (e.g., first-generation college students, BIPOC students, women in STEM) on experiences and performance in academic contexts. She develops theoretically-based interventions to improve the educational experience for students from diverse backgrounds. Dr. Herrmann is passionate about teaching and mentoring and recently received the Gene Sessions Excellence in Teaching Award from Weber State University. She became involved with SPSSI in 2014 and has since served on the Teaching Resources Award Committee, Diversity Committee, Communications Committee, as the editor of The Forward newsletter, and as a 2024 conference co-chair.
