2015 Outstanding Teaching and Mentoring Award Winner

Sheri R. Levy is an Associate Professor and Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Department of Psychology at Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, New York, USA.  She received her PhD in Psychology from Columbia University in New York City, USA. She studies factors that cause and maintain prejudice, stigmatization, and negative intergroup relations and that can be harnessed to reduce bias, marginalization, and discrimination. Her research focuses on bias based on age, ethnicity, gender, nationality, race, sexual orientation, social class, and weight. She is a Fellow of the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues, and she was Editor of Journal of Social Issues from 2010-2013.
