Leslie Berntsen

 

Dr. Leslie Berntsen is a Lecturer in Psychology at the University of Southern California, where she has taught courses in applied introductory psychology, abnormal psychology, and social/affective neuroscience. Her teaching expertise and research interests lie at the intersection of psychology and social justice, and include teaching controversial topics and providing inclusive STEM education. Leslie is the recipient of the 2016 Wilbert J. McKeachie Teaching Excellence Award from the Society for the Teaching of Psychology, the 2018 Teaching Resources Prize from the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues, and will represent SPSSI as their annual speaker at the 2020 National Institute on the Teaching of Psychology. She tweets about teaching, social justice, and life as a WOC in academia (and loves making new Twitter friends!) under the handle @leslie_bern.
