Continuing with GSC’s focus on international issues and collaborations, there are some great articles in this issue. Read about Peace Kiguwa’s experience as a graduate student in South Africa and see how graduate school is similar or different in your country. Also check out Robert Blagg’s research on extremism, which is particularly relevant in today’s society. Finally, read a letter from GSC’s chair Janice Adelman on how you can effectively use SPSSI as a resource and yourself become a resource to SPSSI! If you would like to describe your experiences as a graduate student or want to share your research with other members of SPSSI, please contact the GSC.

Our theme of internationalism will also be evidenced at the SPSSI conference in Chicago, Illinois in June 2008. We have a great lineup of events including a session on international and domestic collaboration, as well as a roundtable discussion for people of color in academia. Look out for the next issue of our newsletter focused on everything you need to know for the conference. We hope you will contribute to future issues of Rookie and we will see you in Chicago!
