 | From SPSSI's Executive Director Anila Balkissoon SPSSI Council, our governing board, continues to meet twice annually. At the February 2019 Midwinter Meeting, SPSSI leaders and staff gathered for two days in Washington, DC to continue strategic implementation discussion and to work on other pressing matters. There were several positive developments, including the formal adoption of our strategic goals and implementation plan, which will guide activity over the next three to five years. Council has made a commitment to review and revisit this strategy annually to ensure decision-making aligns with these principal goals, to adjust our aims accordingly, and to maximize long-term impact. |  | From our Policy Director Sarah Mancoll The Spring 2019 edition of Forward focuses on the themes of immigration, migration, and internationalization. With these themes in mind, I am reminded of past Psychology Days at the United Nations, which SPSSI’s UN/NGO Committee co-organizes in collaboration with other psychology NGOs. For years, the Permanent Mission of Palau to the UN has co-sponsored Psychology Day, which takes place at UN Headquarters in New York City. We were delighted to receive well over 300 submissions for the conference. Since December, we have been hard at work reviewing and accepting conference submissions (thanks to those of you who served as reviewers!), designing coherent groupings for the 15-minute talks, arranging the conference schedule, and confirming special events.
