From the EditorBy Namrata Mahajan Hello! We hope you've had a great year and are as excited as us about the upcoming 7th Biennial SPSSI conference in Chicago, Illinois. This issue of Rookie provides articles we’ve offered throughout the year as well as a guide to the conference in June (you can check out the full program at www.spssi.org). Read a message from the outgoing Chair of the Graduate Student Council (GSC), Janice Adelman. Check out special events organized by and held for graduate students in psychology, which include a mentoring lunch and a discussion for people of color in academia. When in Chicago there are numerous exciting things to do and see. Look at the quick guide to Chicago and plan to include a ride on the 150-foot-high Ferris Wheel at Navy Pier, shopping at the Magnificent Mile, and indulge your taste buds at the Taste of Chicago, an annual fair that introduces you to the wonderful food and entertainment of the city. If you know of any great places to visit or things to see, post them on the SPSSI GSC listserve. Finally, read about the experiences of a graduate student in Israel. This issue offers a variety of articles that you may find useful as you plan for the conference. See you in Chicago! |
