2017 Outstanding Teaching and Mentoring Award Co-Winner
Dr. Keon West is a social psychologist and a lecturer at Goldsmiths, University of London. He received a B.A. in Psychology from Macalester College, St. Paul, MN, and a doctorate in Experimental Psychology from Oxford University. He has worked at several universities and lived and in multiple countries including Jamaica, the US, France, and the UK. His research focuses on group-based identity and behavior, particularly on improving communication and interactions between different groups of people. As well as publishing several scientific papers each year, Keon has frequently disseminated his findings in the broader media including television, radio, newspapers and online. His recent televised documentary “Just Not My Type” on Channel 4, looks at the role of ethnicity in dating and partner selection.
