Hello SPSSI Graduate Student Members! I am serving as your 2017-2018 editor for The Rookie. I am excited to have the privilege of serving as your Communications Member-at-Large and having the opportunity to share SPSSI graduate student members’ work in The Rookie, our SPSSI GSC Facebook page, and to the broader SPSSI member base. I have been so impressed by both the quantity and the quality of the work our graduate students have been doing!

This year, the Graduate Student Committee has been working diligently to create many ways for you to showcase your work. Firstly, you can submit an article to be featured in our next issue of The Rookie (the submission guidelines can be found online). You can email your submissions directly to me at spssi.rookie@gmail.com. Additionally, we are running a Graduate Student Spotlight series on our Facebook page which highlights recently published or presented work from our student members. If you would like to be featured please email GSC Chair-Elect Angela Robinson at angelarr@uci.edu.

Our goal in the upcoming year is to continue to highlight the exceptional work that our student members are doing, as well as highlight the diversity of our current graduate student body. We aim for our social media content and The Rookie publication to reflect the voices of our student members. We want to hear from you if you have any suggestions or questions about our featured content or goals. I look forward to meeting many of you at this SPSSI’s 2018 Summer Conference in Pittsburgh, PA!
