Council Member 2018-2021

Asia Eaton. As a feminist social psychologist, my research broadly examines the social and psychological causes and consequences of sexism (see website HERE). Specifically, I explore how gender intersects with race, sexual identity, age, and class to affect individuals’ access to and experience with social power in (1) intimate partner relationships and (2) in the workplace. Within SPSSI, I have served as Co-Chair of the 2018 SPSSI Conference, and as a member of the Applied Social Issues Internship Committee. In the South Florida community, I am Head of Research for Cyber Civil Rights Initiative (CCRI), which is working to understand and end the emerging epidemic of non-consensual porn.
