Update on the Journal of Social IssuesAs I write, the end of 2007 and my second year as editor of JSI is in sight. Before providing an update on the journal, I note several year-end transitions to and from the editorial board. I gratefully acknowledge the two years of able service provided by Elizabeth Cole, Chris Crandall, and Deborah Tolman, who are transitioning off the board. I am pleased to welcome to the board faculty members Gillian Finchilescu (University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa) and Noraini Noor (International Islamic University, Malaysia), and new graduate student member Marcella Boynton (University of Connecticut). The first issue of 2008 is in publication and scheduled for delivery (by mail and Internet) around mid-February. The remaining issues to be published in 2008 are either completed or near completion. The pipeline is replete with developing issues of the journal that should fill the pages for the next few years. You can always determine the topic and editorial team for any issue in development by consulting the JSI pages on the SPSSI web site. Access this information by navigating to the SPSSI homepage (www.spssi.org), clicking over the “Publications” button, and choosing “Journal of Social Issues” under the “Journals” heading.
