SPSSI's Policy Coordinator

Christopher Woodside received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Miami University where his studies included intensive research of both domestic and foreign policy issues.  From there, he spent over two years working first on the campaign, then as a congressional aide to now Congressman Chris Van Hollen representing Maryland’s 8th Congressional District. During his tenure on Capitol Hill, Christopher assisted the Congressman with handling a wide variety of constituent affairs and legislative issues.

After completing his time with Congressman Van Hollen, Christopher performed a brief stint in Washington, DC public relations work, from which he transitioned to MENC:  The National Association for Music Education, where he was brought onboard to head the policy team as Director of Government Relations & Outreach. At MENC, Christopher was responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive advocacy and public policy agenda designed to promote the cause of music education in America’s schools.

Christopher has a strong passion for social justice and joins our staff looking forward to applying his knowledge of policy processes to his work on behalf of SPSSI.
