Astrid Stückelberger earned her doctorate in psychology at the University of Geneva on the mechanisms of health assessment in the elderly population, having completed a diploma in mental health in cross-cultural. She is currently Assistant Professor for the Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in public health at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Geneva.
In other roles, she serves on the Ethics Committee of Research at the World Health Organization, chairs the Committee for NGOs on Aging at the UN, is secretary general of the European Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics, and is a representative of the Permanent International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics (IAGG). She is co-founder and president of the Geneva International Network on Aging (GINA) which received a special achievement award from the Secretary General of the United Nations in the International Year of Older Persons.
