PRESS INFORMATION

The SPSSI Biennial Conference brings together over 300 social scientists from around the world to present their latest research and to discuss its relevance to future research, education, and public policy.

Two press briefings will take place:

1. Healthcare and Social Disparities (Friday, June 22nd at 12.30pm)
Press release: Today a Struggle to End Health Disparities for People with Stigma

2. Race, Affirmative Action, and Immigration (Saturday, June 23rd at 9.50am)

New data on a wide array of other topics will be featured in many symposia, interactive discussions, poster presentations, and 15 minute presentations throughout the three days. Other topics include the Gender Pay Gap, Combating HIV/AIDS, Obesity, Televised Sports Entertainment, and Volunteering.

Registration
Credentialed members of the media are invited to attend all or part of the conference and one or both of the press briefings. Registration for the media is complimentary and can be made here. Information on reserving rooms at the conference hotel can be found here.
